Rural Advocates Legislative Conference
Once again the NYS Rural Advocates is planning its annual Legislative Conference for 2008. The Conference is scheduled for March 2nd through March 4th in Albany, NY.
Partner with community leaders, community development practitioners and leaders in the financial industry to address some of the most pressing housing and community development challenges and to examine relevant public policy. Our 2008 Legislative Conference is designed to bring this public policy dialogue to Legislators and State Administration Officials in Albany. We have scheduled interactive sessions to discuss record gaps in housing affordability, new ideas for program models, specific community action plans and the effectiveness of public policy in housing and community development. This year we have invited lawmakers to hear from at least two communities that are exploring new initiatives that examine and address issues of housing affordability, the subprime mortgage crisis and ways in which public policy may affect these initiatives.
